Douglas Shire Council proposes to amend its planning scheme and has received the Minster of Infrastructure and Planning's consent to notify the public.
Amendment 2 seeks to introduce a Sustainable Development Code that will apply to commercial and multi-unit residential buildings, and to alter the existing Reconfiguring A Lot Code to promote more sustainable outcomes.
Hard copies of the proposed amendments to the Planning Scheme are available for inspection and purchase (free for local residents and businesses) at the Council Administration Office at 64-66 Front Street, Mossman. Written submissions on the proposed amendments may be made to the Council during the consultation period which commenced on Monday 3 December 2007 and finishes on Friday 1 February 2008.
