| Camping is prohibited in Douglas Shire except in designated licenced Caravan Parks and camping areas. In other words, there is no free camping in Douglas Shire. This includes self contained motorhomes and caravans. The Shire is patrolled 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to enforce this policy and on-the-spot fines of up to $37.50 may be issued.
