Water Billing

Water & Waste' s Water billing department is responsible for the reading and billing of approximately 50,000 accounts. Meter reading and the issuing of water notices to customers occurs three times each financial year.

Other areas covered by Water Billing include Settlement Water Search (meter readings) and Metered Standpipe hire.

Water & Waste measures water in kilolitres or megalitres. For your reference:

• 1 Kilolitre = 1000 litres
• 1 Megalitre = 1000 kilolitres

For water billing purposes, Cairns Regional Water and Waste only charges in kilolitres.
