The Welcome To Cairns Mini-Phone Directory lists important phone numbers and information to help settle newly arrived migrants and their families. The directory also provides instructions on the use of the National Translating & Interpreting Service (TIS). Customers can request an interpreter to assist in communicating with Council staff. TIS interpreters are offered free of charge, but only for Council related business.
This Council resource is offered in seven different languages: Arabic, Chinese (traditional), Cook Island Maori, English, Hmong, Japanese, Tagalog/Filipino and Thai.
How to Prepare & Respond To A Cyclone Information Brochure
Cyclone season in Far North Queensland is from November to April every year. This brochure provides important community information on what to do before, during and after a cyclone. The brochure can be downloaded and is offered in seven different languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, Hmong, Italian, Japanese and Tagalog (Fililpino).
